Social Media Cafe 3

The art one

It’s great in Liverpool at the moment, the leaves may be falling from the tress but to make up for it we are surrounded by some world class won’t see it all in a weekend art, yep the the Liverpool Biennial is on, the derelict shops are no longer, now they are full of images that intrigue, inspire and excite us. So this month we decided to have a look at the way that arts organisations big and small use social media.

We will be being joined by Antony Pickthall from the Liverpool Biennial to guide us through the story of putting together a social media campaign for an international event, the perils and pitfalls but the successes too.

From the big to the small with the Fab Collective, a Liverpool based photography collective – they’ll enlighten us with what they gained by collaborating and how Social Media is developing for the world of photography.

Plus, we bring you an open source issue – Feng Office Suite – the story of an arts based collaborative software. But where does it go from here – where to take it? Help is needed to answer this one so bring your thinking caps.

Who’s to blame?

Social Media Cafe Liverpool is a grassroots event, meaning it is organised by volunteers who live and work in Liverpool. Attendance will always be free, though we may ask you to register so we have an idea of numbers, and we currently do not received any sponsorship or financial support. If you’d like to help out or hold a session at an upcoming event please email socialmediacafeliverpool@gmail.com or find us on twitter @SMCLiv
